The program helps children from any tribe, religion or region - providing access to the kind of education, food and housing we expect for our children.
Thanks to the generosity of people in Byron Bay and indeed around Australia, African LEAF has been able to care for many children within the slums.
African LEAF is now ready to create an Environmental Children's Village. This village will be a real home for many of the orphaned and vulnerable children from the slums of Nairobi. Their home will be a place where the children’s talents and positive experiences can be nurtured and enhanced.
There are many ways to support African Leaf as it continues its amazing and rewarding journey. We invite you to join with us and contribute however is most suitable for you - through sponsorship, donating money or goods needed for the Village or volunteering your time and expertise.
Many adversities such as AIDS, domestic violence and extreme poverty have affected all of the African LEAF children in some way, but this doesn’t dampen the bright spirits and personalities nor the future potential of these children.
Without the burden of having to find food and simply survive everyday, these children now have to opportunity to play and learn in a loving environment free from the constant gnawing of hunger.
Through African LEAF these children can escape the harshness that many of them have endured and now they have a future of opportunity and happiness.ß
