And Also Smokeypo
I have been building websites amongst other things for just on 15 years.
I was lucky enough to be taken under the wing of Ingrid Spielman and Thomas Ashelford, who owned one of Australia’s first web design companies Ether.
In 2000 I moved Mullumbimby with my young family but continued to travel down to Sydney to work on the development of an online documentary, with Thomas and Molly Reynolds, about Celtic Music "The Pure Drop".
In 2005 I decided to take a leap of faith and start my own small one man operation And Also Smokeypo, based in Mullumbimby, Byron Shire, Northern New South Wales, catering for the small business end of the market.
Here is a more fleshed out blurb about And Also Smokeypo
Below is a selection of websites that I have built. Over the coming months I will add more when I find the time.
If you like what you see and want to employ my services, then you can contact me via email neil@andalsosmokeypo.com

I can't wish for anything more than that.
Paper Wings
A creative mix of past, present and future ideas in children’s product design with the focus on enhancing the lives of children by creating products that positively influence the way they look, feel, play and experience their environment. All pieces are designed to be ‘every day favorites’ - lovingly worn out rather than outgrown.
Jason Gibaud and Michelle Fallon provide the artistic vision and technical expertise behind our unique company.
PAPER WINGS celebrates the freedom of being children, looking like children and - most importantly - feeling like children.
I maintain and update this site when required.
Jason Gibaud and Michelle Fallon contacted me early in 2006 about designing a web site for a children's clothing company they were about to start. The designs were absolutely amazing and I just had to be apart of the journey and that was the beginning of Paper Wings online. This is the fourth or fifth redesign of the web site since then. Designed using a combination of Photoshop™, Dreamweaver™ and Flash™. The home page simulates a bookshelf that when the user hovers over the spine of a named book it appears to move from it's place on the shelf. The web site site is a combination of static html web pages and interactive Flash™ based look books. If only I could keep working on web sites that have this level of creativity, then....

Dave Plays Drums
Dave Sanders plays music on the drums. He is based in the northern NSW town of Mullumbimby , Australia.
Dave divides his time between national touring, recording and teaching drum set at Southern Cross University (Lismore), Jazzworx ( Brisbane) and from his home studio.
I maintain and update this site when required.
Dave had a book given to him by an ex student called Larry plays drums with all references to Larry crossed out and replaced with Dave. We decided that that was a good starting point for the look of the web site. A bit of fun....

remote community art centres, is situated in the idyllic, picturesque village of Brunswick Heads,
just 15-minutes drive from popular Byron Bay on the Far North Coast of New South Wales.
Roslyn has taken on the responsibility for the updates to this site.
I made this site in 2005 and it still remains one of my favorites because of it's simple clean design.
Global Protection Agency

GPA has now become a leading environmental consultancy firm specifically focussing on the development of innovative and cutting edge environmental solutions for the music event industry.
I maintain and update this site when required.
The design for this site was based on the graphic from the existing business card - The 1950's esq private dective agency look and feel.
Aim International
Aim Records was established by BluesFest director Peter Noble in 1981 with a focus on blues, roots, jazz, soul and world music styles.
Aim Records is a purely independent label – which means no affiliation or licensing agreements with major labels in Australia or overseas.
In 2008 Aim became the first ever Australian independent label (non-major affiliated) to win a Grammy Award!
I maintain and update this site when required.
Peter wanted a complete redesign of the Aim International website and wanted something that looked like 'no other record label' - he didn't want the out of the box solution. The only direction was "something like and old television set".
Well tv didn't wet my taste buds, but the old radio grams did. I went off to Mullumbimbiy Historical Museum with the trusty digital camera and, for a donation to the museum, I was able to take some pic's of woodgrains, knobs, dails etc form old record pleayers and radio grams.
This site was a lot of fun to make.
Mullumbimby Magic Foods
Mullumbimby Magic grew from a love of simple, fine food. Amanda started out making salad dressing as gifts for friends and the comments became louder over the years: “You should be sharing this!”
Her products are proudly hand-made, from growing the herbs to sticking the labels on.
I maintain and update this site when required.
Amanda wanted a very simple site with a cottage industry/recipe book look and feel to it.
